Changelog

What changed in each release. Including changes to the engine that move the numbers.

Changes to the projection engine can move an existing plan's results even when nothing on screen looks different. Those get an entry here, because a forecast you saw last month should not quietly become a different forecast without an explanation.

Allocation editor0.8.6Latest version, August 29, 2026

The asset allocation card is now the editor: the rebalancing strategy and the plan mix sit on the card itself, and a help button explains the strategy in force.

Rebalancing inside IRAs, 401(k)s and Roths is now split across those accounts in proportion to what each holds, so rearranging the accounts table no longer changes the forecast.

Rebalancing strategies0.8.5

Rebalancing is now modelled properly. The default is Steer the overall mix, limiting the tax: IRAs, 401(k)s and Roths trade toward your target, and taxable accounts only move as far as they can without adding tax, so the plan never sells a winner just to hit a number. Let it drift never trades to a mix at all and is there as the comparison. Existing plans that already chose Let it drift keep that choice.

Your actual mix across every account now sits in the Total row of the accounts table, next to the balances it is weighted by, with a quiet note when it has moved away from your plan target.

Reorder Inputs0.8.4

Savings & investments, Liabilities, Income, and Expenses can now be dragged into a new order on the Inputs tab.

Documentation0.8.3

Documentation updates. Clarifications regarding investment assumptions and rates.

First-year tax0.8.2

First-year tax now uses full-year brackets on remaining income and takes only that share of the bill, and the Cash Flow tab notes when that year is partial.

Asset allocation chart0.8.1

Added an Asset allocation chart on the Projections tab, showing the stocks / bonds / cash mix year by year.

Rebalancing strategies0.8.0

Started implementing rebalancing strategies. Each savings account can now hold its own mix of stocks, bonds, and cash, and the first strategy (letting the mix drift with returns) is live in the projection.

Documentation0.7.1

Added and improved the public documentation: how the forecast works, what it models, and what it leaves out.

Public beta0.7.0

The first public release. We forecast whether your savings are likely to last, one year at a time, against 500 simulated futures built from market history.

What is in this release:

  • Multiple independent plans, plus four demo households to start from.
  • A projection engine that models real federal and state taxes, required minimum distributions, early withdrawal penalties, and account-by-account withdrawal ordering.
  • A chance-of-success figure measured across 500 Monte Carlo paths, and historical playback for replaying real calendar years.
  • Documentation covering how the forecast works, what it does and does not model, and every simplification that can bend your result.

It is a beta, and it is free. Your plans stay in your browser. Tell us what is broken.
